Emergency Classification System

LEVEL 1: CRITICAL (Immediate Danger)

Life-threatening situations requiring immediate action

  • • Medical emergency, injury, or health crisis
  • • Threats of self-harm or suicide
  • • Physical assault or immediate safety threat
  • • Substance abuse crisis

IMMEDIATE ACTIONS:

  1. Call 911 if immediate medical/police intervention needed
  2. Contact the Sentinel directly if reachable
  3. Contact campus security/health services

LEVEL 2: URGENT (Requires Quick Response)

Serious concerns needing same-day attention

  • • Sentinel concern flagged in weekly report
  • • Student hasn't attended past 2 Sunday meals
  • • Significant behavior changes or distress
  • • Academic crisis (failing classes)
  • • Conflict with Sentinel

RESPONSE ACTIONS:

  1. Contact the Sentinel for details and context
  2. Expected response time: Within 4 hours during business hours
  3. Administrator will coordinate intervention plan

LEVEL 3: CONCERN (Standard Follow-Up)

Non-urgent issues that need attention

  • • Questions about program or payments
  • • Minor scheduling conflicts
  • • Feedback or suggestions
  • • General wellness check-in

RESPONSE ACTIONS:

  1. Use dashboard messaging to contact Sentinel
  2. Email support@sundaysentinels.com for program questions
  3. Expected response time: Within 24-48 hours
Information to Provide in Emergency

When contacting emergency services, be prepared to share:

  • Your information: Your name, relationship to student, phone number
  • Student information: Full name, school, phone number, last known location
  • Sentinel information: Name, contact details, address
  • Situation details: What happened, when, any immediate concerns
  • Recent history: Recent weekly reports, behavior changes, relevant context
After an Emergency is Resolved

Once the immediate situation is stabilized, Sunday Sentinels™ will:

  • Conduct a follow-up call within 24 hours
  • Coordinate with campus resources for ongoing support
  • Evaluate and adjust the mentorship arrangement if needed
  • Create a safety plan and prevention strategy
  • Provide counseling referrals and additional resources
  • Document the incident for quality assurance and safety improvements
